I want to convert electric baseboard heat to radiant?

Our house is 30 years old, and we can barely tolerate the electric baseboard heat. Radiant heat seems to be the best option. Can we convert the electric baseboard to electric radiant heat? Any forums or DIY info would be great! Thanks !

The house only has electric heat, and we don’t want to add gas eat to the equation at this point. Would electric radiant heat be a more efficient source of heat?

Trying to understand my radiant heat system?

I have an in floor radiant heat system using water that’s heated by a tankless water heater. However, there is also a PEX line running from the top of my main hot water heater/tank, which passes through a "Feed Water Pressure Regulator" with the arrow indicating the flow is toward the radiant system. This finally connects to the system just after the outlet from the tankless heater, after the circulator. Does anyone know what the purpose of this connection from the main household hot water tank would be?

Many hot-water heating systems have a reservoir tank connected directly to the pipeline, so as to allow for ex?

Many hot-water heating systems have a reservoir tank connected directly to the pipeline, so as to allow for expansion when the water becomes hot. The heating system of a house has 74 m of copper pipe whose inside radius is 9.6 10-3m. When the water and pipe are heated from 26 to 80°C, what must be the minimum volume of the reservoir tank to hold the overflow of water?

The costs for two different kinds of heating systems for a three-bedroom home are given in the following table?

The costs for two different kinds of heating systems for a three-bedroom home are given in the following table:

SystemCost to InstallOperating Cost/Year
Solar,7000
Electric,000,100

a. After how many years will total costs for solar heating and electric heating be the same?

b. What will be the cost at that time?

I am installing a floating floor over a concrete slab & want to add electrical outlets in the floor. Ideas?

Do I have to trench the concrete or is there another way? I’m thinking wrapped wiring (like radiant heaters) or flat instead of round conduit??

Can steam be used in radiant floor heating?

I’m an architecture student designing a dorm for the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, NY.

The school already has a geoexchange system that provides ground-temperature water to buildings. There is also a system that supplies buildings with steam. I’m attempting to implement in-floor radiant heating/cooling. I was wondering if there is a system that will convert steam to hot water, or use steam to heat the ground-temperature water that can then be fed through the floors. Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks!

My heater wont work anyone know anything about home oil heating systems?

My home heater runs off oil today it has started acting up we thought we had just run out cause it had shut off on its own but it wasn’t really all the way empty so we had it filled and my husband has had to prime it several times (suck the air out with a hose although it doesnt seem theres a lot of air) and after that it will run a cycle then shut off again and not come back on I know this is a complicated question but anyone who has experienced this or something similar and could give any advice would be appreciated thanks.
The filter was clogged but he cleaned that out and it ran better for a while but it still shuts off. I would love to hire someone to fix it but its 10:30 at night and the wind chills gonna be below zero so was hoping for a quicker fix lol
